Believers Destiny Getaway was the idea we had for many years about creating an ideal holiday home for families to come to; without packing up your whole house just for a weekend away. Everyone's lives are busy and complicated enough to make a weekend away an issue; it's supposed to be a weekend away, meaning a break away from all the rush and technology. Our self-catering accommodation is eco-friendly and TOTALLY off-the-grid, with solar and gas. WE DO NOT HAVE ANY ESKOM HERE. And we only have rainwater here.

We are people who like to travel to different destinations, and it seems that there are not many places which are really convenient for families with small children, so we thought why not build a place especially for families and pets. And if a place is child friendly, it WILL be pet friendly. We have 4 spaniels, and this place is designed for them too. So we built VLAKVARK, the big house.

​

It took us little less than a year to build the first house. We bought the vacant land and build this place from scratch, on our own, just weekends. (We literally did the building work ourselves, the designing of it and everything that goes with it) We both had our normal work from Monday to Fridays; so, all that was left, were the weekends for this job.  Every little detail you find inside and outside these accommodation units are made by hand: our hands, our sweat, a whole lot of endurance and hard work...faith & a whole lot of miracles!!!

We used real stones and alien vegetation (black wattle, pine, blue gum) for all the items that are made. Soon after VLAKVARK's opening, I left my job to give our guests the best service possible.

The first house, VLAKVARK, which accommodate 5 guests at a time, was opened for guests on 1 February 2017. VLAKVARK is child- and pet-friendly. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

The second house, MEERKAT, is a log cabin which is designed for couples. This is the ideal romantic getaway with that special log cabin features. The log cabin was opened for guests on 16 March 2018. MEERKAT is  NOT pet-friendly. 

​

The 3rd self-catering accommodation, BUSHCAT, opened 15 FEBRUARY 2019 for bookings. This is the ideal place to book for those couples that cannot agree on camping /clamping or if you don't have any camping equipment. Who doesn't want to camp / glamp in LUXURY WITH YOUR OWN PRIVATE WOOD-FIRED HOT TUB.  The BushCat is a modified caravan with a double bed and can accommodate 2 guests at a time.  On the patio, there are braai facilities with a braai grid and a wood-fired hot tub. The caravan, bathroom and patio are all under one roof which makes it more ideal for camping /glamping any time of the year.  BUSHCAT is pet-friendly . Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

All our units have it's own private wood-fired hot tub and braai facilities on the patio.

If you haven't being here yet, you are missing out on great service.

We (my husband and I) do literally all the work ourselves. WE DO NOT have any staff at all. So, we clean your house, we pack the bags of wood which are in your house on arrival. We are the ones that is making all your food and drinks, we do the washing of the laundry ourselves. We are the ones that fixes everything, if you have any issues during your stay.

We are becoming more and more self-efficient on our smallholding. We now have a hot house and greenhouse, so all the bottled salads are made with organic vegetables from our gardens with only the best ingredients. These salads can be bought at our lapa /shop.

The  LAPA, HAKUNA MATATA (meaning "no worries"), is open for all our guests!!!! Everything is made from scratch, real homemade meals without any msg, colorants or flavourants. We only use Eureka mills flour for our baked bread (blik broodjies) & pizza bases, as it is unbleached flour with no GMO. The bread and pizza bases are sourdough.

From the cold meats for the platters, the jams, salads, spices to the meat we have, we try to get everything as organic as possible, with real ingredients and no preservatives or anything like that. Here you buy real food..........our motto is to supply only the best for our guests at affordable prices.

We now have a wide range of meat available, only the best products!! Ranging from beef & springbok sausage; chicken kebabs; pork chops, pork rashers, pork kebabs, biltong, "droëwors" and a lot more!!!

At our shop, inside the Lapa, we have a wide range of products available, all homemade and handmade by awesome people.... just the best products you will find under one roof.
